A Christmas Story, The Musical

When: November 7th and 8th

Where: Civic Center Music Hall

Info: America's #1 Christmas movie comes to life on stage as a hilarious holiday musical. Based on the writings of radio humorist Jean Shepherd, A Christmas Story, The Musical! chronicles young and bespectacled Ralphie Parker as he schemes his way towards the holiday gift of his dreams — a Red Ryder Action Air Rifle BB Gun. ("You'll shoot your eye out kid!") A kooky leg lamp, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a maniacal department store Santa, and a double-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the distractions that stand between young Ralphie and his Christmas wish.

National Veteran's Day Run

When: November 8 from 3:11-4:11 p.m.

Where: Stars & Stripes Park

Info: This race will feature an 11K, 5K and 1-mile family and supporter walk/run. The 11K will begin at 3:11 PM while the 5K and the 1-mile walk/run will start immediately following. Both the 11K and 5K will be professionally timed, using state-of-the-art Chronotrack timing systems. As a way of saying thank you for your service to our Country, veterans and all active duty military personnel will receive an $11 Basic Entry into both the 11K, 5K timed run or 1-mile walk. Please choose the veteran or active duty military option during registration to receive the discount.Spouses of veterans and active duty along with their *children, between 13-18 years old, receive a $5 discount off the current registration rate through race day. American Quarter Horse World Championship Show

When: Recurring daily from November 5th to the 21st

Where: State Fair Park

Info: The AQHA World Show is the pinnacle event for for American Quarter Horse owners and exhibitors around the globe. Competitors and their Quarter Horses compete yearlong to qualify for the honor of competing at this annual event. For more information on this event go to this link.

Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker

Holiday Pop-Ups Shops at Midtown

When: Recurring weekly on Sunday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from November 27 to December 20

Where: Midtown

Info: Visit 38 Oklahoma-owned shops and an urban Christmas tree lot for four weeks this holiday season between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Shops rotate weekly through a set of geodesic domes at NW 10th and Harvey, next to Bleu Garten. The holiday shopping village is open each weekend, starting Black Friday, Thursday through Sunday to the public. Entry is free, shopping is encouraged.
