Why You Should Clean Your Air Ducts
Improve Your Air Quality
Your air ducts act like the lungs of your home with dirt, dust, dander, hair, oils, grease, and chemicals getting recirculated through your home on average of 5-7 times each day, traveling through your air ducts for you and your family to breathe in.
According the EPA, the air quality in your home can be anywhere from 2-5 times worse than the air quality outside your home. In fact, the EPA and its Science Advisory Board consistently rank indoor air pollution as one of the top five environmental health risks to the public.
A clean HVAC system promotes a enhanced indoor environment, contributing to added productivity, comfort, and a sense of well-being.
At Zerorez, we are committed to helping you create clean and healthy environments. So, we have taken our same passion for industry-leading innovation and exceptional customer service and applied that to cleaning your air ducts.

Dryer Vent Cleaning
Prevent fires and decrease drying time.
Protect your home, your family, and your dryer by scheduling a professional cleaning of your dryer vent with Zerorez. Over time, lint and debris build up in dryer vents, creating blockages that not only slow down your dryer but also increase the risk of a dangerous house fire. That's why it's so important to have your dryer vents cleaned at least once a year.
-
Prevent fires: Dryer fires are responsible for thousands of home fires each year. Regular vent cleaning significantly reduces the risk.
-
Increase safety: Blocked vents lead to overheating, which could cause your dryer to fail and create hazards in your home.
-
Improve efficiency: A clean vent helps your dryer run more efficiently, reducing drying times and energy consumption.
-
Extend dryer lifespan: When your dryer doesnāt have to work as hard, it lasts longer, saving you money on repairs and replacement.
-
Lower energy bills: With a cleaner vent, your dryer uses less energy, translating to noticeable savings on your utility bills.
-
Improve indoor air quality: Dirty dryer vents can recirculate dust and allergens, impacting your homeās air quality.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my air ducts need to be cleaned?
According to the EPA, you should get air ducts cleaned if there is substantial visible mold growth present in hard surface (e.g., sheet metal) ducts or on other components of your heating and cooling system, if your ducts are infested with vermin (e.g., rodent or insects), or if your ducts are clogged with excessive amounts of dust and debris and/or particles are actually released into the home from your supply registers.
The National Air Duct Association states a typical household should clean its air duct system every 2-5 years. If it has been longer than that time window, your air ducts probably need to be cleaned, even if you have regularly swapped out your system's air filters.
If you just moved into a new home, just completed a big construction or renovation project in your home, notice an excessive amount of dust collecting in a short period of time in your home, or your home suffered water contamination or damage to the home or HVAC system, it is also a great time to get your air ducts cleaned.

With the Hypervac system, most of the debris is extracted outside to our truck, as it uses negative pressure, but technicians are happy to cover furniture upon request and will cover items directly under a vent.
If we are using the Air Wave System, each vent opening is covered by a box unit which collects and extracts away all the dirt and debris. Should any dust or dirt still end up inside your house during the cleaning process, we will clean it up, and can cover items upon request.
We will also use corner guards to protect furniture and walls from our hoses used during the cleaning process.

We mist the entire air duct system in order to treat it and remove potentially harmful substances and particles.

This will depend on the system we are using. Our Hypervac system is the most powerful and effective vacuum system and moves over 15,000 CFM (cubic feet of air per minute)!
Does Zerorez create an additional duct access point?
Rarely is it possible to do a thorough duct cleaning by using just the register and grate openings. Additional access points are often created by cutting into the plenum of your HVAC system in order to accommodate a suction hose or cleaning device. We will properly and professionally replace and reseal any and all access holes so they are airtight.
