Traditional protectors rely on a repellent barrier across the top of carpeting to protect carpet fibers. And while such protectors perform well, when spills are cleaned up immediately, once a spill penetrates the barriers of repellent protectors they immediately bond to the fiber, creating difficult to remove stains.

Because Zerorez Premium Fiber Protectant™ protects the fiber completely, not just at the top, spills will not bead up and then soak through to create stains. Zerorez uses an environmentally safe, water-based fluorochemical technology. Not only does it protect against oil and water-based spills, as well as dry soils, it also protects fibers from the toughest dye stains.

Carpets come from the factory with protectant applied to the fibers. Foot traffic, vacuuming, and even cleanings can slowly remove the protectant in traffic lanes. Carpet without protectant will permanently absorb stains; and dirt and oils will stick to the fibers and cause traffic lanes to darken quickly. With Zerorez Premium Fiber Protectant™, your vacuuming is much more efficient because the dirt won't stick to the slick surface the protectant creates. Spills will sit on top of fibers instead of absorbing and bonding with the fiber. Zerorez recommends protecting rooms with moderate to heavy foot traffic each time you clean.

Rugs

How Do Protectants Work?

Carpets are built to last anywhere from five to twenty years depending on the fiber and quality. Factory protectant wears off over time and re-applying protectant after each cleaning keeps the original protectant from deteriorating.Think of it like the paint finish on your car. It protects your vehicle's color from sand damage and UV fading. Waxing your car protects the original factory finish so it never loses its clarity. Are Protectants Useful?

If you live in a house, use household appliances, cook using non-stick pans, own furniture or drive a car… you're already surrounded by, and benefiting from, protective coatings. Fluorocarbon protectors are considered to be safe once applied to the carpet. The best feature of protectants is extending the life of your carpet! The number one reason for replacing carpet is due to it looking old and worn, which accounts for almost 5 billion pounds of carpet going to landfills each year in the US. How is Protector Applied? 

After surfaces are cleaned the technician applies protectant by spraying it onto the carpet, rug or upholstery and brushes/grooms it in to evenly coat the fibers. Zerorez Premium Fiber Protectant™ uses almost half the water of other protectants and dries twice as quickly.

How Does Fiber Protector Work? 

Once dry, protectant seals the fiber with a coating that has an extremely low coefficient of friction. Simply put, dirt won't stick. Liquids bead up, making it easy to clean up. And oils won't absorb into the fibers. It's just like the Teflon® pan you own… but for your carpet!

Is There A Guarantee? 

Carpet warranties cover mostly food-based spots and spills. The truth is, that's because protectants are most effective against those kinds of stains. Protectants are definitely helpful against certain chemicals, inks and dyes, and give homeowners more time to clean them up, but there is no guarantee that they will eliminate all stains.
