How often should I get my tile professionally cleaned?

Most definitely our most commonly asked question of all, so why not answer this one first, eh? To make it really short and sweet, we suggest having your tile professionally cleaned a minimum of once a year.

Much like your carpets, you'll want to consider having your tile cleaned more often (perhaps every 6 months) depending on your household wear-and-tear. By this we mean the amount of traffic your tile floors see- i.e. pets, kids, parties, etc..

Why you guys instead of another company?

Typically, harsh chemicals, detergents, and cleaners are used for a traditional professional tile cleaning (by which we mean, not a Zerorez cleaning). Those chemicals/soaps dry into your tile and grout's natural pores, causing that sticky residue magnet we talked about.

Because of our Zerorez Zr Water, we have the advantage of not leaving dirt-attracting residues behind on your tile/grout.

This makes it so we don't need to use harmful soaps or detergents to clean your tile and grout- cleaners that only cause sticky residue.

Our process is designed to completely wash your tile and grout with high-pressured water, while simultaneously suctioning the water mixture back up.

This is unlike traditional cleaners, whose technology may not always be able to achieve the same amount of water removal, therefore leaving behind quite a bit of their soapy water mixture for the tile/grout to soak up.

What is Tile and Grout Sealing?

To choose to seal your tile and grout, you must first know what it is and what it does for your home.

Tile and grout sealer is a liquid coat we can apply to the porous surface of your tile or grout. In short, it protects the tile and grout from natural deterioration, day-to-day wear, and helps to keep your tile cleaner, longer.

Sealers typically protect unglazed tiles and grouts from absorbing stains, dirt, grime, mold, mildew, bacteria, etc..

Sealing tile and grout can either be done yourself or by professional tile cleaners (which is what we suggest).

Specifically, after a good Zerorezification^® on your tile and grout, our technicians can apply a sealant to your grout and tile to help create a barrier between those porous surfaces and whatever ends up on them!

Why are some areas blotchy and dark on the grout before a cleaning?

As you now know, tile grout is a dirt magnet!

There are many different kinds—sanded, unsanded, quarry, cementite, and so forth. All of them are porous in nature.

This means that grout soaks up all the dirt, grime and even liquids that wash over it, making it the ultimate dirt magnet!

Grout Sealant is our go-to answer. Tile and grout sealant slows staining, helps make cleaning easier, and prevents unnecessary repair costs!

With the grout pores covered by a sealant, grout becomes much less absorbent.

This means that if a liquid is spilled on the grout, it will not immediately soak into the grout or seep into the edges of the tile, keeping the grout from becoming discolored or blotchy.
