What the Job Is Really Like

A Zerorez technician spends most of the day visiting homes across the Treasure Valley and helping customers solve problems with their floors and living spaces.

Customers call us when something is wrong:

• stubborn stains
• pet accidents
• heavy soil
• odors
• carpets that look worn or dull

Our technicians diagnose the situation, apply the right tools and chemistry, and restore the surface whenever possible.

This job is active and hands-on. Some days are physically demanding. But for the right personality it can be extremely satisfying.

Few jobs allow you to solve a problem and immediately see the results of your work.

A Day in the Life of a Zerorez Technician

Most days follow a simple rhythm.

Morning

Technicians begin the day by preparing equipment, reviewing the schedule, and making sure the van is ready for the day's work.

After arriving at the first home, the technician meets the customer, walks through the areas to be cleaned, and identifies any specific concerns.

Midday

Technicians perform the cleaning work using professional equipment and cleaning solutions designed to remove soil and restore carpet and surfaces.

Every home is different. Some jobs are straightforward maintenance cleaning, while others involve solving more challenging stain or odor problems.

Technicians communicate with customers throughout the job and make sure expectations are clear.

Afternoon

As the day continues, technicians travel between homes, solve new challenges, and continue improving results for customers.

Before leaving each job, the technician walks through the finished work with the customer to ensure they are satisfied with the results.

End of Day

Technicians finish the day by returning equipment to ready condition and preparing the van for the next morning.

Each day brings new homes, new problems to solve, and new opportunities to improve.

How Pay Works

Technicians at Zerorez Boise are paid using a performance-based system.

Instead of a flat hourly wage, technicians earn income based on the work they complete. This allows motivated technicians to earn significantly more than traditional hourly service jobs.

To provide stability while learning the role, new technicians start with a guaranteed hourly safety net during training and slower production periods.

Once technicians become comfortable with the work, most income comes from production.

Typical Earnings

Most technicians earn the equivalent of:

$18 - $25 per hour

as they gain experience and efficiency.

Technicians who become highly skilled, communicate well with customers, and take ownership of their work can earn closer to:

$30 - $35 per hour

or more during strong production periods.

The system rewards technicians who solve problems well, care about their results, and take pride in their work.

Benefits & Perks

We believe good work should be supported with practical benefits and flexibility.

• Retirement savings plan (Simple IRA / 401k-style program)
• On-the-job training and skill development
