What to Expect After Your Cleaning

  1. Carpet/On-site Rug Cleaning
    1. Dry time is typically 2-6 hours, though more may be necessary depending on the amount of work done, air flow, temperature, and relative humidity.
      1. To speed up dry time, get air moving by turning on fans, setting the HVAC fan to "on," and placing additional fans around the rooms to move the air
      2. Introduce drier air into the rooms that have been cleaned. Opening windows, placing fans to blow air into the room that has been cleaned can help.
      3. Sub-topical urine or stain extractions may take longer to dry. They are typically dry within 8-10 hours, but longer may be needed to fully dry out.
    2. Vacuum the carpet thoroughly after it has dried
      1. This will remove any dry, solid particulate that may still be in the carpet after the cleaning. We remove the oils and sticky stuff that holds dirt in the carpet, and your vacuum will get the rest!
    3. Urine stains on the carpet, especially those seen only with UV blacklights, are unlikely to fully disappear. Those stains require the addition of some harsh chemical treatments, which is antithetical to our whole business model. They will lighten over time, but as they cannot be seen except with UV light, we do not treat for those stains. It is possible to determine if the stain is new or old, by looking at the brightness and the clarity of the stain.
    4. Over-the-counter and DIY cleaning products may have chemicals in them which will bleach (oxidize) your carpet. We are not responsible for the activation of these chemicals, or the subsequent discolorations that may occur. We do have options available to you for the repair of your carpet.
    5. Severe traffic and/or lack of maintenance will degrade carpet, and your traffic patterns and other areas of extreme use will show signs of this use. It does not mean the carpet is still dirty, it means its used. Carpet is typically made of plastic and will show signs of use.
    6. If you see ripples appear in the carpet, don't be worried! This is normal, and they will relax back into place within a 24-48 hour period.
    7. If there are spots that wick up, or we missed something, please let us know so we can correct the issues!
    8. If you have pets (especially dogs) and it now smells like wet dog in your home, allow the carpet to thoroughly dry and then vacuum thoroughly to remove the hair and dander that may still be present. If the carpet still has an odor, we are happy to return and treat the carpet for that persistent dog odor, at an additional cost.
    9. If any recommended treatments were NOT elected during your clean, and now we have wicking and/or odor issues, we are happy to treat those problem areas for an additional cost. Untreated stains may become significantly more noticeable.
    10. If the recommended treatments WERE performed, and there are still issues, please reach out to us, so we can discuss your Plan B, or at the very least try a basic re-clean of the areas.
    11. Any other questions or concerns, please let us know ASAP!
  2. In-facility Rug Cleaning/Washing
    1. Rug turn-around time is typically 2-3 weeks, but may be longer, depending on the needs of the rug. We will not rush a rug that needs extra time.
    2. Natural fiber rugs are subject to shrinkage, especially those made with cotton or jute. We do our best to mitigate shrinkage, but cannot guarantee no shrinkage will occur.
    3. Bleeding may occur during a cleaning or washing. We take all pre-caution to avoid this, yet some bleeding may occur.
    4. Tufted rugs made in India may be subject to delamination or the loss of the backing border strip. If this happens, we will contact you to discuss repair options.
    5. Knotted rugs may appear to have white spots and/or "sprout" after the cleaning. The white spots are knots where the foundation yarns were repaired during the weaving. Sprouts are yarns that were not cut during the finishing stages of the manufacture of the rug, which may have been buried in the pile and are now exposed. Carefully trimming those with scissors is the best course of action.
    6. Rugs not picked up or delivered within 2 weeks of completion will be subject to a $15 per week storage fee. Rugs not picked up or delivered within 6 months of completion will be subject to sale.
    7. if you have any questions, please let us know ASAP!
  3. Upholstery Cleaning
    1. Dry times- usually within 2-4 hours
    2. Its best to thoroughly vacuum your upholstery once it is dry.
    3. Pretty much the same as carpet!
  4. Tile, Stone, Grout, Concrete
    1. Dry time- typically within 1 hour
    2. Stone, grout, and concrete are subject to staining. Staining usually requires a resurfacing to fully remove- cleaning may not be sufficient. If there are stains in the stone, grout or concrete that you want corrected, please let us know and we can discuss our options.
    3. Stone, Grout, and Concrete Sealants need 24 hour to fully cure. Avoid getting sealed areas wet for 24 hours.
    4. Vacuuming without a beater bar, dry mopping with a microfiber mop, and using our ZrWater MultiSurface Cleaner are the best ways to maintain your hard surface floors
  5. Wood Floors
    1. Dry time- typically within 1 hour
    2. The "paper towel" test doesn't reveal dirt being pulled up from the floor- it is the finish of your floor breaking down and transferring to the towel
    3. Our re-finish products are typically sock-walkable within 1 hour of application, and return to normal use within 24 hours. It is best to avoid laying rugs down on re-finished floors for 48 hours.
