Area Rug Cleaning

The Zerorez Process

Step 1
Inspection

Our Zerorez Clean Experts™ will carefully inspect your rug, identifying what types of fibers the rug is made with, and identifying if there is a concern with bleeding or shrinking. They will look for spots and damage to the rug, taking pictures of the rug to discuss any concerns with you.

Step 2
Dry Soil Removal

Since most of the soil in area rugs is fine-particulate dust and dirt that needs to be removed before wet cleaning, your rug will be carefully treated and vacuumed to remove as much of this dry soil as possible.

Step 3
Submersion Cleaning

Rugs that are heavily soiled or have pet stains should be cleaned in a rug bath; this is where the rug is submerged in a bath of cleaning solution. For pet stains, we use a gentle, wool-safe odor treatment. Rugs that are heavily soiled are cleaned, rinsed, and prepared for finishing and drying.

Step 4
Drying

The excess water is extracted and the rug is inspected to ensure spots, spills, and odors have been removed. If the rug passes inspection, it is carefully groomed to reset the fibers. Different methods of drying are used depending on the type of rug.

Step 5
Premium Fiber Protector (Added Service)

We highly recommend having our Premium Fiber Protector applied to your area rug after it has been cleaned. Protector bonds to the fiber and adds a protective barrier to prevent oil and food-based spills from soaking in. This invisible barrier also helps prevent dry soil from sticking which makes vacuuming more effective.

Step 6
Rug Delivery

After your rug has been cleaned and dried, it is rolled and stored until it is ready to be picked-up or delivered to your home.

Preserve and Protect

Rugs are a beautiful way to add texture, depth, and warmth to your home. But just like your carpets, they are subject to the wear and tear of daily foot traffic. With Zerorez, you can clean and protect your rugs to keep them looking their best!

Most experts recommend at least one annual cleaning for your rugs. A cleaning every six months may be needed in homes with pets and high-traffic areas.

How does Zerorez clean area rugs? Can you clean them in the home or do you take them off-site?

We can clean some types of area rugs in your home, as long as there are no biological issues in the rug (such as urine, blood, feces or vomit) and there is an appropriate surface to clean them on. Some locations offer rug bath cleaning where they can take your rug to their shop and do a much more thorough and detailed cleaning of your area rugs, which takes additional time, but is often well worth it.

Please check with your local franchise to see what level of rug cleaning they offer. They will also be very happy to provide a quote for your area rug cleaning needs.
